I got this pot for my first foray into canning. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s attractive, sturdy, and I’m sure it will last me many years. I have an electric glass top stove and the flat bottom is necessary.

However, there are two main issues I have with this pot. The first is that if you’re using quart sized jars, and your recipe (like mine) tells you to make sure that there’s at least an inch of water above the jar while you’re processing it, this pot isn’t tall enough for rolling boiling water one inch above a quart sized jar sitting in a canning rack.

The second thing is, if your recipe (again, like mine) tells you to put the lid on while processing, the aluminum rim on the pot and it’s lid do not have any kind of seal under them. When you’re processing, if you have the lid on, condensation runs down the lid and into the lip where the lid sits, and fills it, until it starts dripping down the side of the pot. If you’re canning with pint sized jars, this may not be an issue, the water might just fall back down into the pot if it’s not full near the top.

Other than that, the pot is great.

This is one of the first canners I’ve found to work on my glass top stove. I’m still working on getting the water levels correct for the number of jars I have in there, but over-all great product.

This is a good canning pot you can even order the rack witch is quality also.I would recommend this to friends and other buyers. This is made of a thick gauge metal not a thin one that’s not going to hold up to weight of heavy jars and water, handles are well made lid is tight and heavy for the price its a good buy considering how long these pots last.
