This review is from: Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 7-Quart Covered Stockpot and Stainless Steel Steamer/Pasta Insert (Kitchen) I purchased this in addition to the 11 piece set of Bronze cookware for boiling spaghetti and potatoes especially. Looks beautiful on my black glass stovetop, sits level, and food does not stick. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Pot small, holes too big, By GrandCan “Gourmet Grandma” (Connecticut) – See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 7-Quart Covered Stockpot and Stainless Steel Steamer/Pasta Insert (Kitchen) I was looking forward to getting this pot so that I could avoid having to pour pasta from the pot to a colander. What I found though is that even though the pot is 7 quarts, it does not hold nearly that much water. You can only fill it to the fill line, which is about 2/3. If you fill it more than that, the water boils over through the space where the pot and insert meet. The water also leaks out when you carry the pot from the stove to the sink to drain. So unless you don’t want to cook more than 1/2 pound of pasta, this pot is inadequate. Also, the holes in the insert are huge. The spaghetti falls through them and into the pot or out into the sink when you lift the insert. The pot without the insert is fine and of good nonstick quality. But I already have the Anolon Advanced set, which includes an 8-quart stock pot; so I really didn’t need to add a 7-quart pot. I only bought it for the pasta insert, which for the reasons mentioned above isn’t worth the price, especially if you have a large family to feed. I’m going to buy a larger pot with a locking straining lid (probably a T-fal pot). 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Cooks Even, By Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 7-Quart Covered Stockpot and Stainless Steel Steamer/Pasta Insert (Kitchen) I recommend this product to anyone who does a lot of cooking. The teflone spreads the heat as advertised. Good |
