| 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful PERFECT in every way., By Tri-Girl (Chicago, IL USA) – See all my reviews This review is from: Guy Fieri 5-qt. Round Pre-Seasoned Light Weight Cast Iron Braiser Pan, Hot Rod Red The description says it all: Pre-seasoned … YES! No muss, no fuss, perfectly coated for that great cast-iron sear without the stick. Clean up is a dream. Light-Weight … YES! Very managable on the stovetop compared to the labor involved with the typical “cast-iron”. Hot Rod Red … the picture doesn’t do justice, its a delight to have in my collection. What the description doesn’t elaborate on is the glass dome lid that is included – in the braising process, the built-up steam/moisture streams beautifully down the curved sides instead of the droplets soaking the food from the top. There are different schools of thought on this, but I prefer the moisture coming from the bottom instead of drenching the food from the top. My hope is that they’ll expand this line. A great braiser, Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Guy Fieri 5-qt. Round Pre-Seasoned Light Weight Cast Iron Braiser Pan, Hot Rod Red I bought it to replace a cast iron braiser that my family member ruined. This is one fourth the weight, you can monitor the food without lifting the lid, because it’s glass, and the food is delicious. Still requires all the precausions associated with cast iron: hand wash, no soap. It heats evenly. Well worth the money. I was really looking forward to this…, This review is from: Guy Fieri 5-qt. Round Pre-Seasoned Light Weight Cast Iron Braiser Pan, Hot Rod Red The look and design are indeed great and I echo the previous comment, however, I ended up getting oil too hot in the pan and destroyed it. I love cooking with cast iron and expected this product to perform as such, but 400 degrees is the limit for this light weight version of cast iron. Patrick |
